Da Mario's LITTLE ITALY | Menu & Opening Hours
Da Mario's LITTLE ITALY at Rheinstraße 32 is not an ordinary Italian address, but a location that combines restaurant, stage, and event space. The official Darmstadt tourism site describes the venue as a blend of high-end gastronomy and dinner theater over 800 m²; it also mentions a legendary Campari bar, live music on its own stage, and over 40 years of tradition. Schlemmer Atlas adds to the impression by categorizing it as an Italian-American styled restaurant with a glamour factor, event stage, as well as dessert and wine showcases. So, for those looking for a place that combines menu, entertainment, and a special atmosphere, this profile goes far beyond a classic Ristorante. ([darmstadt-tourismus.de](https://www.darmstadt-tourismus.de/en/visit/detailsen/poidetail/da-marios-little-italy.html))
Menu and Dishes: Pizza, Pasta, and Italian Classics
The menu of Da Mario's LITTLE ITALY is clearly divided into Italian classics: Antipasti, Pasta, Pizza, Carne, Pesce, and Dolci. This structure fits perfectly with search queries for menu, dishes, or menu photos, as guests can quickly navigate between light starters, pasta dishes, and heartier main courses. On the starters page, items such as Vitello Tonnato, Carpaccio di manzo, Gamberoni della casa, Caprese di buffala, and various salads appear. The pasta dishes range from Spaghetti aglio e olio to Carbonara originale con Guanciale, including variations with Polpette, Salsiccia, Salmon, King Prawns, and Truffles. The pizza menu focuses on Italian standards with buffalo mozzarella, salami, prosciutto, spinach, and gorgonzola, tonno e cipolla, diavola, or burrata; among the meat dishes, Involtini alla siciliana, Saltimbocca alla romana, veal chop, rump steak, and beef fillet are listed. The dessert selection ranges from panna cotta and tiramisu to chocolate soufflé and sorbet al limone. ([speisekarte.de](https://www.speisekarte.de/darmstadt/restaurant/da_marios_little_italy/speisekarte))
For SEO research, it is also interesting that the menu is not structured according to a minimalist bistro pattern, but as a broadly laid-out world of enjoyment with a clearly recognizable quality impression. Speisekarte.de states the processing status as of 15.03.2024 and shows detailed descriptions for many dishes, while Schlemmer Atlas summarizes the main courses with a price range of 17 to 44 euros and highlights recommendations such as original Carbonara alla Nonna, NY Steakhouse Angus Beef, or a pistachio soufflé. Even the pizza section speaks of daily, fresh, and extraordinary variations. This makes the location particularly relevant for users who are not only looking for Italian food but for an upscale menu with selection, bar character, and a bit of show flair. Opening Hours and Reservations: When to Visit
When it comes to opening hours, a closer look is worthwhile, as the information varies slightly by platform. The official Darmstadt tourism site lists Monday to Friday from 12:00 to 14:30 and 17:30 to 00:00, Saturday from 17:30 to 00:00, and Sunday from 17:00 to 21:00. GastroGuide provides similar daily times for the same address but lists Saturday starting at 17:30 and Sunday until 22:30; 11880 shows Monday to Thursday from 11:30 to 14:30 and 17:00 to 22:30, on Friday until 24:00, Saturday from 17:00, and Sunday also with a lunch shift. These differences are typical for restaurant profiles when opening hours are maintained, updated, and slightly staggered across various portals. For visitors, this means: it’s best to check the current daily information before heading out. ([darmstadt-tourismus.de](https://www.darmstadt-tourismus.de/en/visit/detailsen/poidetail/da-marios-little-italy.html))
Content-wise, the establishment fits search queries around booking and lunch, as it indicates table reservations, takeout, card payment, family-friendliness, parking, and a terrace according to speisekarte.de. Schlemmer Atlas adds a lunch menu and states that the restaurant is wheelchair accessible, Wi-Fi capable, and dog-friendly. So those coming during lunchtime will find not only an evening concept but also a classic Italian restaurant with daily operations and user-friendly services. For reservations, the phone number 06151 5014242 is listed in directories; additionally, an email address and the website of the establishment appear on the official page. This makes it clear: Da Mario's LITTLE ITALY is not just an event location in the evening, but also a functioning restaurant during the day with structured service offerings. ([speisekarte.de](https://www.speisekarte.de/darmstadt/restaurant/da_marios_little_italy1))
Directions, Address, and Parking at Rheinstraße 32
The address is clear: Rheinstraße 32, 64283 Darmstadt. The location is situated in the city center and is described as a centrally accessible point, ideal for a dinner before an event, a business lunch, or an evening with a show program. In tourism and industry directories, the directions via the address are clearly laid out, and several portals offer direct route planning. This is particularly important for search queries like Rheinstraße Darmstadt or location, as users often want to know first whether the trip to the city center is worth it before clicking on the map. ([darmstadt-tourismus.de](https://www.darmstadt-tourismus.de/en/visit/detailsen/poidetail/da-marios-little-italy.html))
When it comes to parking, one should be careful in phrasing: A specific garage or an official parking structure is not explicitly mentioned by the verified location communication, but speisekarte.de lists parking spaces as a service, and Schlemmer Atlas lists the location with city center character and classic gastro infrastructure. In practice, this means: those arriving by car should consider the city center of Darmstadt as a central location with typical urban parking options and plan some buffer time depending on the event or time. This mix of a central address and event-driven usage makes the location particularly interesting for guests from Darmstadt, Frankfurt-Rhine-Main, and the surrounding area. ([speisekarte.de](https://www.speisekarte.de/darmstadt/restaurant/da_marios_little_italy1))
Events, Dinner Shows, and Live Music on Its Own Stage
The perhaps strongest differentiating factor of Da Mario's LITTLE ITALY is the event concept. The official presentation describes 800 m² of event space for up to 199 guests and positions the location as ideal for business events, corporate incentives, product launches, keynotes, gala dinners, weddings, and private bookings. Additionally, there is a staging that consciously recalls Broadway and New York: high-end gastronomy meets dinner theater, its own stage, and an atmosphere described as glamorous and timeless. For those searching for events, programs, or shows, this combination is crucial, as the location does not just sell food but offers a complete experience of space, light, stage, and culinary delights. ([darmstadt-tourismus.de](https://www.darmstadt-tourismus.de/en/visit/detailsen/poidetail/da-marios-little-italy.html))
On the show side, dinner shows, tribute evenings, and live music formats are regularly announced; ticket sales, according to the official presentation, run through the website or Eventim. Among the entries are Sinatra programs, soul and jazz evenings, as well as show formats with entry from early evening and show start later in the evening. This is SEO-relevant because users searching for programs, tickets, shows, live music, or evening events often look for exactly such a location: gastronomically high-quality but with an additional entertainment factor. Da Mario's LITTLE ITALY thus fills a niche between restaurant, stage, and event venue that is not common in Darmstadt. ([disciascio.co](https://www.disciascio.co/en/damarioslittleitaly))
Photos, Reviews, and Mein Lokal, Dein Lokal
Those looking for photos, reviews, or reviews will quickly find a clear visual profile at Da Mario's LITTLE ITALY. Schlemmer Atlas describes the establishment as an Italian-American styled restaurant with a glamour factor, event stage, as well as dessert and wine showcases; cocktails and long drinks at the bar are also highlighted. Such images shape the online impact: red lighting, stage, bar, dessert presence, and a staging that resembles an urban show restaurant more than a classic trattoria. The provided location data mentions 4.6 stars from 694 reviews, while the Schlemmer Atlas entry awards 2 cooking spoons. For users, this combination of high visibility, clear brand staging, and numerous reviews is an important signal when making a selection. ([schlemmer-atlas.de](https://www.schlemmer-atlas.de/restaurants/deutschland/darmstadt/da-marios-little-italy/))
Additional recognition comes from the TV appearance in Mein Lokal, Dein Lokal. Episode 1870 is titled The Professional Comes: Da Mario's Little Italy, Darmstadt and focuses on host Gianni and the Italian-American world of the establishment. Such media mentions are valuable for search terms like Mein Lokal Dein Lokal, by owner, or particularly valuable because they anchor the name not just as a restaurant but as a recognizable format. Together with the official event pages, this creates a digital image that goes far beyond mere menu information: it’s about recognition, show character, and a location that is intentionally staged as a stage in Darmstadt. ([fernsehserien.de](https://www.fernsehserien.de/mein-lokal-dein-lokal/folgen/1870-der-profi-kommt-da-marioss-little-italy-darmstadt-1839957))
Atmosphere, Equipment, and Who Should Particularly Visit
Da Mario's LITTLE ITALY is especially exciting when one does not view Italian cuisine in isolation but as part of an evening with atmosphere and program. The official description speaks of Broadway flair, legendary Campari bar, and a symbiosis of premium restaurant and dinner theater; Schlemmer Atlas adds wheelchair-accessible entrances, Wi-Fi, and dog permission. This makes the location suitable for couples, groups, business meals, family celebrations, and guests looking for a place in Darmstadt where food, ambiance, and entertainment come together. So, if one expects just a pure pizzeria, they are short-sighted: this is about a place with a clear brand identity, high interior capacity, and an offering that ranges from lunch to show night. ([darmstadt-tourismus.de](https://www.darmstadt-tourismus.de/en/visit/detailsen/poidetail/da-marios-little-italy.html))
Precisely for this reason, search queries around menu, opening hours, photos, reviews, Mein Lokal, Dein Lokal, and Rheinstraße 32 serve such different user intentions. The location provides Italian classics on an extensive menu, a central city location, event and show formats, as well as a distinctive visual language for social media and Google Discover. Those looking for a special restaurant in Darmstadt will find here not only food but an experience with stage, bar, and a staged evening feeling. So, if one expects just a pure pizzeria, they are short-sighted: this is about a place with a clear brand identity, high interior capacity, and an offering that ranges from lunch to show night. The location provides Italian classics on an extensive menu, a central city location, event and show formats, as well as a distinctive visual language for social media and Google Discover. Those looking for a special restaurant in Darmstadt will find here not only food but an experience with stage, bar, and a staged evening feeling. Went here for lunch when it was not too busy. The place is massive with a lot of room and big tables for large groups of people. Food here was good, and they even offered Parmesan for the pasta.

# Da Mario's LITTLE ITALY: An Expensive Exercise in Theatrical Incompetence We arrived on Silvester—New Year's Eve—an evening ostensibly reserved for celebration, though one might question what precisely was being celebrated here. The entrance presented itself as bureaucratic theater: staff fumbled with handwritten seating assignments they could not decipher in their own deliberately insufficient lighting. A restaurant aspiring to refinement could not execute the pedestrian task of reading its own notes. ## The Architecture of Sensory Assault 90 decibels. This is not ambiance. This is acoustic violence. In a space with low ceilings—where sound has nowhere to retreat—the establishment deployed impersonators of Elvis, Sinatra, and Jackson, each performance timed to coincide with course delivery. Why engineer an experience where guests cannot see their food, cannot taste with concentration, and cannot speak to their companions? The lighting collapsed into near-total darkness during each musical interlude, save for a solitary candle that functioned as neither illumination nor atmosphere—merely as evidence of capitulation. Between these sonic sieges, background music played at a volume best described as "barely tolerable." This qualified as the evening's only mercy. ## The Culinary Dissection For €120+ per guest—excluding all beverages—the menu presented itself as ambitious. It was not. **The scallop soup**: The scallop possessed a texture neither firm nor tender, but rubbery—the consistency of confection, not crustacean. Dry. Overcooked. A fundamental failure any competent kitchen should have intercepted. **The main course**: Here, finally, a structural victory. The Argentine beef filet, executed sous vide, arrived tender, properly seasoned, and plated with competence. This single element prevented the entire operation from collapsing into irredeemable farce. However, the promised sweet potato purée had been replaced with ordinary potatoes. One suspects inventory depletion. One knows this signals kitchen disorganization. **The dessert**: A bisected muffin, saturated in alcohol to the point of structural dissolution—as if the kitchen were liquidating expired spirits through confectionery absorption. Accompanied by an unidentifiable foam perched atop a cookie base with chocolate powder scattered without purpose. And another rubbery mussel, because evidently the first was insufficient punishment. ## The Mechanical Failure of Service Our waitress performed admirably—attentive, efficient, gracious under conditions that would have broken lesser professionals. We compensated her accordingly. A woman—ostensibly management—circulated the dining room, publicly reprimanding this same waitress on multiple occasions. Criticizing plate-carrying technique in view of paying guests. This is not refinement. This is incompetent theater, the hallmark of an establishment that mistakes authoritarianism for standards. Genuine luxury operates invisibly. This was provincial pantomime. ## The Financial Reckoning €120+ per person for admission. €70 additional for beverages over six hours. No complimentary water. No champagne. No Sekt. Every element charged à la carte. ## The Verdict Da Mario's LITTLE ITALY mistakes volume for value, darkness for drama, and expense for excellence. It is neither bold enough to be remembered for daring, nor competent enough to be forgotten as harmless. It occupies that most tedious category: the ambitious failure—a restaurant convinced of its own sophistication while demonstrating only its structural deficiencies. The beef filet alone prevents me from declaring this irredeemable. But one successful element does not constitute a dining experience. It constitutes evidence that competence exists somewhere in that kitchen, suffocated beneath pretension and decibel assault. This was not dining. This was endurance. **2.8/5**—and the rating is charitable.

Little Italy in Darmstadt has a really beautiful atmosphere, peaceful, luxurious, and with a positive vibe. I really liked the ambiance, and it felt like a high-end restaurant in terms of design and setting. However, the service was not at the same level. Not all, but some of the staff were not very friendly. Additionally, the restaurant was quite crowded, and it seemed like there weren’t enough staff to handle the number of guests. As a result, the service was not as smooth as expected. We tried pasta, a pistachio pizza, and a bottle of wine. The wine was okay, and the pizza was delicious. However, the pasta was disappointing—it cost around €28, but the price, quality, and portion size didn’t match. It felt overpriced for what we got. Overall, it’s a nice place, but I’m unsure if I’d go again. While the atmosphere is great, the balance between price, service, quality, and portion size wasn’t quite right.

Very nice atmosphere, beautiful decoration, live music, the place was really crowded. The service was good but I think it took a bit too long with everything. The food is overpriced and didn’t meet my expectations. I don’t think I would choose this place again for my dinner.
